Wednesday, 11 May 2011Since we last took a look at Win-Spy there have been a whole host of new features added. The product is the highest rated title in the spy software category so we thought it was about time we had a second look.
What jumps out at me is the number of other things Win-Spy does OTHER than track user behavior. Here's a list of kick-ass features that I wouldn't have expected to see in this type of key logger program:
- Folder Hider - Cool, now I can completely hide those *special* folders :)
- Clear Track - Allows you to easily clear Internet and Windows tracks on your computer. Brilliant.
- PC Tracking - Secretly sends information on the machines whereabouts if it's stolen - can this get any better?
- Secure File Deletion - Boom. Say good bye to the evidence!
- Counter anti-spy software - i.e. this little baby will protect itself is someone is trying to find it!
And they aren't even the newest features. Let's look at what's new :
Remotely deploy the software
Bundle the software into another install, or make it look like an Excel spreadsheet, Word document, Powerpoint or screensaver. Win-Spy will discreetly install in the background. OMG that's cool.
Remote monitoring
Over the web, by email or FTP. You can view almost all activity while you're away from your machine. And you can even be notified of events by SMS.
So what does this all cost? The answer is a sliding scale depending on what you will use it for, and how many machines you will be monitoring:
- $39.95 - Home Version -(10 remote license )
- $375.00 Small/Med Business (40 remote work station license)
- $1299.00 Corporate Version (150 remote work station license)
OK, so it's very clear why this tops the polls in the category. If there were any drawbacks, they would be the user interface, easy of use and support (all of which are far better with PC Pandora) but on the features front Win-Spy is clearly in front.

Used WINSPY and then bought Pandora because this was a bit buggy and I couldn't be bothered to reinstall it.

I found this software simple and effective. Easy to install and doesn't impact performance at all.

Honestly, the people who write good reviews about this product are probably trying to promote and increase popularity towards the product. The product it self is somewhat unstable. Take it from me, i have had personal experiences. It is not really a legitimate product and the consumers are wasting their time.

VERY VERY buggy, amateur level programming. While functional overall, many advertised features just simply do not work. Remote monitoring sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Support is virtually non-existent. Updates to keep up with AV ASW programs are few and far between. After paying for app and remote installing it can/will get wiped out by AV ASW scanners and you will be told 'we are working on an update please be patient'. Just because the free trial works on remote PC for a few days, don't think that it's okay to buy. You may get 1 month, or 1 day. Depends on how often your target updates AV ASW definitions and scans. Writing program code to copy/record what is happening on a PC is simple, writing code to upload that data to FTP or email it is simple. The amateurish level of programing in this app shows in the buggy interface and inability of the creator to keep it invisible to AV scanners reliably.

I considered many other software before picking winspy.com because it seemed to offer more features. I am so happy with my choice, if just for the file lock ability which is a god send.

I don't know what kind of people find this software useful. Remote install file is even detected by hotmail's built in AV. Useless piece of junk. Do not waste a penny on this. Absolutely no support like they promised before I bought it.

Win Spy does exactly what it says on the tin. I wanted to track usage on my Windows 7 laptop and it allows me to do that without any impact on the speed of the machine. I also use it in my small business to keep tabs on usage. Highly recommended

Recommended. I've tried both PowerSpy and Win-Spy and this software wins hands down. Very very easy to use and very inexpensive.

This software runs really well on lower spec machines as it has a small resource footprint.
It will never be detected and gives me the peace of mind that I need. I urge everyone to try Win Spy that wants to know everything thats happening on their PC.
