Web CEO 8.0 released

Monday, 08 June 2009

Web CEO have moved from version 7.7 to 8.0 since my last review, so it's time to take the new features for a spin.

Along side a batch of small incremental improvements, such as improved project search and increased control over scheduling, are some larger rebuilds:

Keyword Search Tool

I'm a bit user of Web CEO's keyword tools. With version 8, data is now sources from Google themselves. The search seems to be more snappy and suggestions more relevant. And the big improvement is search frequency, which now reflects the figures produced by the Adword tools themselves.

Blog Submission

Not an area of the program I use often, but one which will come in useful to those with a new website to promote. Version 8 sees an expanded number of sites to submit your blogs to. The submission process has also been streamlined and is now less of a chore.

Link Partner Finder

Alongside a raft of small usability enhancements, the big one here is that pages with backlinks are now tracked. If those page are dropped by a major search engine you will be warned and can take action as appropriate.

The Full Package

Web CEO still stands out as the SEO suite to beat. Should users of 7.7 rush to upgrade? Yes - it's free so make sure you download the latest install files now. I'm not sure why Web CEO don't give an automatic option to upgrade from within the program itself, but until they do you'll need to download the files manually.

Web CEO 7.7

Friday, 12 May 2006

Web CEO 7.0 is a suite of 12 programs that cover all aspects of seo optimisation and promotion. The company broke new ground when they made the lowest level of Web CEO a free product in 2004, a bold step but one which seems to be paying off.

Web CEO is a feature rich application and is backed by a superb team of developers. New updates are constantly available (even for the free version) and response times for technical queries are excellent.

The product itself contains 12 modules which cover:

  • Keyword suggestion - including KEI analysis and competitive site research.
  • Optimization tool
  • Editor - for WYSIWYG html editing, robot.txt and meta tag generation
  • Submission tool
  • Link popularity tool
  • Pay-per-click manager
  • Ranking checker
  • Traffic analysis
  • Uploader
  • Auditor - which checks for broken links, html validation, orphaned files etc
  • Monitoring - including uptime and file size checking.

Certainly no webmaster should be without the free edition of Web CEO, and serious consideration should be given to an upgrade if you manage larger websites where conversion of visitors into customers is a priority.

I use Web CEO for #SEO because of the reassuring voice that says "Optimization report completed" after I analyze a page :)

I have never had the pleasure of using a piece of software so closely linked to it's programmers. Web CEO seems to be updated daily, and the software is constantly asking me to contact the developers with problems and for help. Even better is that when help is needed they respond almost immediately EVERY TIME. Good software - SPECTACULAR SUPPORT!

I used free edition of Web CEO for a long time and was happy with it. So when I knew about WebCEO discount I bought Professional edition with no doubt.

Now I am a happy user of it. Really great thing!

And what I like the best, this one program can suite everybody. I began when I was a real noob in SEO, and now (Yes, I am immodest enough to call myself an expert ;) )I continue to use some WebCEO tools.

I've spent thousands of dollars on various types of SEO software, from link partner software like Zeus to "beat the algorithm" packages like WebPosition, and WebCEO is the best hands down. In terms of power, it has pretty much everything you need to set up shop as an SEO expert. The interface is clean. It isn't cheap, but the free download did what I needed for a long time until I upgraded.

I use the free version of Web CEO for most of my seo needs. I chose it over Web Position Gold because it is free :)

I use it for seo and visitor behavior analysis. Then I upgraded to the $19 version because I wanted to track visitors and calculate ROI. Perhaps I would have not done this if Google Analytics was around at the time, but I did and it works great.

I am now thinking I will need more detailed reports - on my competitors for example, and I am now considering upgrading to the Pro version. At the end of the day this is a great peice of kit and the developers are just excellent with support. RECOMMENDED.

I started using the free version of WebCEO a while ago and quickly saw it as a valuable tool and upgraded. The keyword research, ranking analysis and optimization advice are all great tools.

I will likely never touch the editing and uploading tools, as I have other tools for that, and I think there could be better integration between some of the tools (particularily the keyword reasearch and the keyword ranking analysis tools).

That said, it's still the single best product for SEO that I have used, and I have tried MANY over the years.
