PC Health Optimizer is a suite of over 25 tools that will repair and optimize your PC. The software, made by Retina-X Studios, claims that it will diagnose and fix problems with your hard disk, memory and registry to speed up your machines overall performance.

We're impressed by the range of tools on offer, which exceed most other registry cleaner and optimization products. Aside from the core optimization modules you will find parental controls, a memory eraser, file protection, anti-spyware, anti-virus.

So how does this product stack up against our Buyers Guide criteria?

Features

PC Health Optimizer covers all of the basics and more. One click diagnosis and repair of disk errors, memory errors and registry errors is standard. Bundles in are also advanced optimizers, including registry, disk (via defrag) and general file system optimization.

It's in the additional bundled features where this product begins to shine. Keep those private files hidden using file protection. Restrict access to the computer or internet use via parental controls, eliminate spyware and viruses and more.

Some of these additional features are less powerful than stand-alone products. For instance, we wouldn't recommend using PC Health Optimizer for anti-virus (but would rather recommend one of the big names in online security - see Anti-virus software compared) but in general they are of good quality.

Error protection

PC Health Optimizer doesn't offer continuous protection by running in the background, but does allow you to schedule scans. This has the benefit of not slowing down your machine while checking and correcting errors when the PC is not in use.

Help and support

PC Health Optimizer is better supported than some other Retina-X software. It has comprehensive help files and how-to guides, an online knowledge base and ticket based support. There is no immediate support however via telephone, email or livechat.

Overall, PC Health Optimizer offers a lot of bang for your buck, which makes it a contender for the top spot in the registry repair and optimizer category. Ironically it's not actually the registry repair or optimizer components of the software that put it up there, but rather the wide range of additional features that come packaged with it.
